CROWN COAT REPAIR
BEFORE
AFTER
In this example, the first thing we did was inspect the crown of the chimney for cracks and any damage that could allow water to get in. The moss on the crown alerted us that water was getting through the crown. Secondly, we cleaned off the crown and got rid of dirt and debris, along with the moss. Finally, after cleaning the crown we applied a crown coat with 1/4 inch thickness. This material is essentially a rubbery concrete mixture that will prevent any more water from seeping into the chimney through the crown, creating a waterproof surface!

VIDEO
In this example, the video shows how the top mount damper works. To keep animals and weather out of the chimney, you pull the silver cord down and lock it into place. There is a silver mount that attaches to the inside of the firebox that will close the chimney until you are ready to use it. Once ready, all you have to do is pull down on the cord and release it from the mount. With it being spread loaded, it will open right up and you will be ready to make a fire!
